In response to market demands, Cambridge Technologies has installed a new processing line at their Tullamarine facility to enable the assembly of Black Zinc Nickel MIL-DTL-26482 Series II connectors; a conductive and environmentally sound surface treatment. The salt spray performance of Black Zinc Nickel plating makes it an excellent choice for applications in highly demanding environments.
MIL-DTL-26482 Series 2, bayonet coupling, rear-removable crimp contact connectors were designed as an upgrade to MIL-DTL-26482 Series 1 and VG95328 connectors. Series 2 connectors are intermountable and interchangeable with both solder and front-release crimp Series 1.
This RoHS compliant conductive & non-reflective black finish is approved for 500hrs salt spray endurance and is fast becoming the new Defence Industry standard. Until recently, Cadmium plating has been the industry preference for Aerospace and Defence applications, widely selected for its environmental and electrical performance. However, the latest ecological and sustainability regulations now seek to reduce or eliminate the use of Cadmium.
Cambridge Technologies also offers a complementary range of protective caps and backshells with Black Zinc Nickel plating.
